Well we had a great time a super meal followed by David Murdoch talking on Whisky – Wit and Wisdom. David surpassed himself with a fabulous talk.

We now know:
About the link between parrots and whisky.
Why twelve immaculately dressed men asked for Buchanans.
The importance of Tommy Lipton’s tea for Tommy Dewar.
And the supposed whisky called King Victoria’s Sporran.
After the meal there were five different malts to enjoy:
OLD PULTENEY 12 YEAR OLD released in mid-2018 was entirely aged in bourbon casks, resulting in a heavy influence of bourbon sweetness .
DEANSTON VIRGIN OAK made with young whisky finished in brand new oak casks from Kentucky.
GLENFIDDICH FIRE & CANE some of the distillery's peated single malt a three-month finishing period in rum casks - but not just any old rum casks. He's selected rum casks from a variety of South American countries to finish this whisky, which ought to play nicely with the burly peat notes at its core.
THE SEXTON SINGLE MALT The creation of master blender Alex Thomas, The Sexton Single Malt Irish whiskey is made from 100% Irish malted barley, triple distilled in copper pot stills then aged Spanish Oloroso sherry casks.
TULIBARDINE SOVEREIGN a delicious creamy single malt which was aged in first-fill bourbon barrels before bottling.
